“Being my first car, I’ve had a lot of firsts with this. It was the first car I drove to uni, the first car I took to the track. But I also had my first accident in this car and you learn from these firsts. It teaches you to be more responsible on the road, and how to look after your car.”

We spent a day with Jack to find out what ignited his passion for cars, and to ask why he chose the Nissan 180SX as his first car.

“My passion for cars first started at a young age when I was playing games like Colin McRae on the PS2, then it moved on to other JDM cars when I discovered Need for Speed and the Fast and the Furious movies.”

Jack originally wanted a Subaru Liberty, but couldn’t find a manual model in his price range. This forced him to look for other options, and so his search to find a 180SX began.

“The car is practical, with plenty of boot-space. It’s easy to maintain, and it’s also great handling and lightweight, so it ticked all the boxes I wanted for a daily car.”

Jack found a 1993 180SX with an engine-swapped SR20DE, and had been manual swapped with an S14 gearbox.

Jack decided to re-spray the car the GTR Bayside Blue after getting into an accident which damaged his front bumper. It was the perfect opportunity to bring the car back up to scratch and give it a refreshing new look.
