This is a car I have been waiting for years to finally share with you; say hello to Jamie Gardner’s stunning Nissan Sil80 s13. I have known Jamie for over eight years as he was one of the original members of the 180sx Club (back when we were a UK only club). He hails from Scotland, UK and he has been painstakingly tweaking and improving his Nissan Sil80 over those years into the Nissan s13 masterclass that you see before you. Jamie has improved every aspect of the already venerable Nissan s13 chassis including suspension components, rims, aero, paint, interior and engine have all seen total overhauls. Scroll down to read the monster spec list to really appreciate just how much effort (and cash!) he has put into building his dream Sil80. The original SR20DET has been replaced with the RB25DET from a Nissan Stagea, the original engine made decent power but with increased displacement and additional cylinders the RB25DET should yield faster turbo response times and potential for some serious boost. The engine bay has been tidied and the front arches professionally tubbed for insane wheel clearance. The car wears Supermade Instant Gentlemen sideskirts and rear bumper, while the front bumper is a Rocket Bunny 6666 Customs item. The arches are Koguchi wide bodys. The footwork on the car are brand new, custom fitment SSR Professor SP1 in super buff finish. They are absolutely stunning and definitely my favourite s13 rims! Exact specifications are in the list below but the rears are a massive 12″ in width. This is a beautiful car but it is no show pony, Jamie has taken this car on track and even drifted it – he must be crazy! But kudos to the massive balls required to throw around such a great car. Jamie’s Sil80 proudly wearing the new 180sx Club sticker. Jamie’s Sil80 has really pushed the s13 scene in the UK forward in a time where enthusiasts are moving onto younger cars and I find that really inspiring. Home built hero – Graphite Grey Nissan 200sx s13 EDM
Here at the 180sx Club we love the Nissan s-chassis – we are especially partial to S13’s.. We do not discriminate with our enthusiasm for this platform; we love fully built 500bhp plus tarmac shredding monsters and we love more basic cars such as Frederik Fuhrhop’s Graphite Grey EDM 200sx. Make & model: Nissan 200sx Model year: 1992 Engine: CA18DET Turbo: T25 Frederik’s car is an early nineties Nissan 200sx manual which came fitted with the tunable CA18DET engine. The European Domestic Market version of the car comes equipped from the factory with a T25 turbocharger, wing mounted intercooler and limited slip differential. Power from factory should be around the 180bhp (flywheel) mark. This example has been modified for reliability and to increase driving pleasure. The car is fitted with a large front mounted intercooler to cool the intake charge, aftermarket intake, 2.5″ exhaust system, heat wrapped tubular manifold and a boost controller. The car features aftermarket shocks and springs and it has been fitted with a ‘Sleepy eye’ kit to give those gorgeous popups a fresh look. Moving inside the car Frederik has kept things simple with a suede, dished OMP steering wheel, aftermarket wheel boss and an upgraded stereo. The car has recently been fitted with a set of larger aftermarket wheels. Frederik has put in the spanner time for every job on this car that has needed doing since he has owned it – now if you have ever owned an older car, especially a well used Nissan s13 then you should appreciate the amount of ongoing effort and cost that running a car like this every day can incur. Carl’s Nissan 200sx S13 daily driver
Welcome to Carl Mossy’s highly modified Nissan 200sx S13 daily driver. Carl has owned and enjoyed this car as his daily driver for the last three years. He has taken this 200sx s13 to numerous track days, including Bedford Autodrome and Brands Hatch. All this mileage clearly illustrates what a reliable and versatile engine the Nissan CA18DET is. Many 200sx s13 owners swap their CA18DET’s for the SR20DET from the Nissan Silvia and Nissan 180sx however Carl’s car shows is not the only path. Make & model: Nissan 200sx Model year: 1989 Engine: CA18DET Turbo: T3 Carl’s 200sx has many modifications to improve looks, performance and reliability. Starting from the outside the car wears Chargespeed rear bumper, Chargespeed side skirts and pre-facelift 200sx front bumper. The car is lowered on fixed shocks and springs and it wears Ultralight 18″ wheels all round. Looking under the hood you will see a fully rebuilt CA18DET running a bottom mounted T3 turbo on a tubular manifold. The car is also fitted with an uprated clutch, front mounted intercooler, 3″ performance exhaust and aftermarket intake. An electronic boost controller keeps everything in check. Performance has been measured at 310 bhp at the flywheel on a Dyno Dynamics dyno. Behind the wheel the car has surprisingly little turbo lag from the big T3 and is happy to rev all the way to the limiter at 7300 rpm. Carl has lots in store for this 200sx including paintwork and if the CA18DET does finally let go potentially a V8 engine swap. Sharp and stylish Nissan 180sx kouki in red
I would like to introduce you to Alex Bhugon’s beautiful red Nissan 180sx kouki. Make & model: Nissan 180sx Model year: 1996 Engine: Sr20det Redtop Turbo: T25 Alex has built this car up entirely by himself from the silver version in the picture above into the stunning red kouki conversion you see before you. The only help Alex has taken in building his dream 180sx is from a bodyshop to apply the gorgeous red coachwork. Tough as nails Nissan 180sx Sil80 conversion
Welcome to Jon’s 1994 model year Nissan 180sx Sil80 conversion. Jon’s Sil80 has been prepared by himself to be a formidable track car. Lightweight fiberglass panels replace most of the heavy standard panels. Lexan rear window glass replacement helps reduce weight from high on the chassis. The drivetrain is powered by a fully rebuilt Sr20det redtop mated to a HKS GT-SS turbo upgrade package with supporting mods including intercooler, injectors and BLITZ Nur Spec R. The turbo is running just over 1bar and is making around 350bhp at the flywheel. The underside of the car has been refurbished with new coilover suspension from Apex Performance and adjustable arms all round. The car wears a mixture of URAS and Vertex aero, with a complete Silvia PS13 front end conversion. The wheels and tyres on the car are 18″ 9.5j Rota GTR wheels wearing TOYO rubber. The interior is fully stripped and race harnesses have been fitted to hold the driver in place during hard cornering. Jon still has lots in store for the car including a new paintjob in the future, we will keep our eyes on this tough looking racecar and hopefully bring you some updates in the future! A smart silver Nissan 180sx Sil80 conversion
I would like to share with you David Ortega Olesen’s beautifully built Nissan 180sx Sil80 conversion. David hails from Denmark and put this car together himself. David is a serious s13 chassis fan with a history of over ten previous s13’s he also currently has a dedicated 180sx drift car that I would love to share with you. This Sil80 is David’s street legal car and so the focus of the build was on daily usability and engine response – no crazy turbos or engine swaps. Power is upped circa 30bhp over standard while aero upgrades update the look of the car, wheels and suspension tighten up the handling.
